The Youth Services Council-sponsored event begins at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 15 at Mercy College and ends at the Dobbs Ferry fire house on Main Street. The event includes a 1K "Reindeer Run" for kids ages 5-10.
"Proceeds go to the youth services committee to support a holiday gift drive for local children and families in need during the holiday season," representatives said in a release.
The first 100 registrants will receive a free holiday-themed long-sleeved race T-shirt and prizes will be given out for best holiday costumes at the day of the race. Westchester Roadrunner will be providing the time clock. Event coordinators for the event are youth services chairperson Lisa Bai, Dobbs Ferry police officer Justin Kamke and Recreation Superintendent Matt Arone.
Runners older than 14 can pre-register for $25 with $30 registration on race day. Runners ages 10-14 can pre-register for $15 or $20 the day of the race. Kids doing the "Reindeer Run" can register for $5.
Registration forms are available at Dobbs Ferry Village Hall, Dobbs Ferry Recreation or on the Dobbs Ferry website.
