Cynthia Watros

Cynthia Watros was born in Michigan in 1968. Her parents divorced when she was 7 years-old and as a teen, she was diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia, an autoimmune disease of the blood which required her to undergo a splenectomy and two years of chemotherapy.

Cynthia Watros was born in Michigan in 1968. Her parents divorced when she was 7 years-old and as a teen, she was diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia, an autoimmune disease of the blood which required her to undergo a splenectomy and two years of chemotherapy.

Watros went on to attend Macomb Community College in Macomb County, Michigan, followed by Boston University School for the Arts from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Her credited acting career began in 1994 with a few TV appearances and by 1998 she had broken into Daytime, playing Vicky Hudson on "Another World" before being cast as Annie Dutton on "Guiding Light," the role that won her a Daytime Emmy Award. Watros went on to appear regularly in Primetime, becoming best known for her roles on "Titus," "The Drew Carey Show," and "Lost." She returned to Daytime in 2013 when she was asked to come and play Kelly on "The Young and the Restless."

Watros has been married to Curtis Gilliland since 1996 and they have twin daughters, Emma Rose Marie and Sadie Anna Marie, whom were born in 2001.
