Classic British detective drama Wycliffe is much loved by audiences and thanks to ITV3 airing repeats, viewers can enjoy watching it all over again.

The popular TV show, which aired from 1994 until 1998 over five series and provided a great whodunit stories set in the gorgeous seaside town of Truro in Cornwall.
In the early series, episodes were adapted from W. J. Burley's novels of the same name, meanwhile, the later seasons focused more on the internal affairs of the beat. It's been over 20 years since the last episode aired on ITV – so where are the main cast now? We found out…

Jack Shepherd – Detective Superintendent Charles Wycliffe
Leading man Jack Shepherd played the role of DS Charles Wycliffe throughout the show's run. Wycliffe took his job extremely seriously, but Charles was also a family man at heart.
His character was married to local teacher, Helen, and the husband and wife had two teenage children. Jack was perhaps best known for his role as Wycliffe but has appeared in many TV shows and films throughout his career.

His most recent credits include Midsomer Murders in 2015 and New Tricks in 2014. Nowadays, however, he's turned his hand to the theatre. He wrote and directed the play, The Cutting Edge, which premiered in early 2020.
Jack has been married twice and has five children including Catherine Shepherd who also acts and has appeared in Peep Show and stars as lead in Sky sitcom Sally4Ever.

Jimmy Yuill – Detective Inspector Doug Kersey
DS Shepherd's right-hand man was DI Doug Kersey, played by Jimmy Yuil, who assisted on the mysterious murders in the coastal town.
Jimmy was best-known for his TV work in Wycliffe but, similar to Jack Shepherd, went on to work in the world of theatre later on his career and starred alongside Kenneth Brannagh in the National Theatre Live production of Macbeth in 2018. Most recently, he appeared in the 2018 film All Is True opposite Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ian McKellen.

Jimmy Yuill played DI Kersey
Helen Masters – Detective Inspector Lucy Lane
DI Lucy Lane completed the trio of detectives that made up the main cast and was played by Helen Masters throughout the show's run. Helen also appeared in many theatre productions in her later career and has had parts in other TV shows such as Doctors in 2011. Today, Helen lives in London with her two children.

Lynn Farleigh – Helen Wycliffe
Lynn Farleigh starred as Charles' wife Helen who works as a teacher in the local town. Lynn had quite the career prior to joining the detective drama in the early nineties and even made a name for herself with the stage work, even performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company in New York.
More recently, she appeared in EastEnders as Nora White between 2013 and 2014. She is married to the actor John Woodvine (who played an Archbishop in Netflix's The Crown) and together they have two children.

Aaron Harris – DS Dixon
Detective Sergeant Andy Dixon was another member of the investigation team and was played by Aaron Harris in the drama. Since the show, Aaron has appeared in other TV series' such as Call The Midwife, Holby City and Fair City.

Adam Barker – DC Potter
DC Potter was played by actor Adam Barker, whose father happens to be the late Ronnie Barker, so it is clear acting ran in the family. After Wycliffe, Adam went on to appear in Casualty, Monarch of the Glen and the film, Shakespeare in Love.

Michael Attwell – DCC Stevens
Detective Chief Constable Stevens was played by Michael Attwell, perhaps best known for his role as Kenny Beale in EastEnders.
Michael Attwell sadly died in 2006
He also appeared in Doctor Who, Only Fools and Horses and Pie in the Sky. He died in 2006 aged 63 from complications following surgery.
