Stevie Wonder to pay 16,000 a month in child support following divorce

Stevie Wonder is now officially a single man. A judge in Los Angeles has finalised the singer's divorce from his second wife Kai Millard Morris, six years after the pair separated. According to , Superior Court Judge Christine Byrd confirmed the end of their marriage on Tuesday.

    The judge granted the ex-couple shared custody of their two sons, but Stevie, 65, must pay £16,000 a month in child support.

    The Grammy winner and the fashion designer married in September 2001. Their eldest son, 14-year-old Kailand, occasionally performs as a drummer on stage with his father. Their younger son Mandla, ten, was born on 13 May 2005 on Stevie's 55th birthday.

    In 2009, Stevie and Kai separated and in August 2012, the songwriter filed for divorce.

    Two years later Stevie, who has been married once before to singer Syreeta Wright, welcomed his ninth child with his girlfriend Tomeeka Robyn Bracy. The little girl is called Nia, which means "one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa" – the annual week-long African American celebration.

    Stevie has eight other children from a total of five different relationships. His eldest child is his 40-year-old daughter Aisha Morris, who he shares with his former secretary Yolanda Simmons.

    Aisha, whose name means "strength and intelligence", has toured with her father and accompanied him on recordings including his 2005 album .

    She was the inspiration for his popular hit and shortly after she was born, Stevie said that his daughter was "the one thing that I needed in my life and in my music for a long time".
