Were 253 points in Wood-Ridge win over Lodi a Bergen record?

Wood-Ridge basketball coach Ed Rock Rienzo was cautiously optimistic about his young team headed into the season. But sharp-shooting junior Angel Colon virtually carried the Blue Devils on his back Wednesday night, scoring 22 of his 45 points over two overtimes to help topple Lodi, 130-123, in the final of the Herb Cohen Holiday Tournament.

It’s already the second time in the young season that Wood-Ridge’s young legs have put the team over the century mark (They beat the Wallington High School Panthers, 102-95, on Dec. 21). And they did it while getting outscored from outside the arc: Wood-Ridge has 13 three-pointers, Lodi had 18.
